#MusicForWildlife

WildAid and RockstarTV are bringing together artists and musicians from across Africa to raise their voices for wildlife in our #MusicForWildlife premium livestream Africa concert series.

More than 34 artists across 9 African countries are performing livestreamed concerts to support wildlife conservation, including Davido, Black Motion, Shekhinah, Vinka, Ferre Gola, Ben Pol, Focalistic, Selmor Mtukudzi, Anita Jaxson and more, with their music and messages potentially reaching hundreds of millions of people across leading African and global platforms.

In between their live performances, the artists will spread positive messages about the value wildlife plays in our economies and in our ecosystems, and its importance of conserving the environment in preserving our own health.

  • Wildlife is the backbone of the tourism industry across African countries. Tourism supports the jobs of millions of Africans directly and indirectly. Without the jobs that wildlife tourism provides, people would have fewer income generating opportunities.
  • All creatures also play a role in the natural systems. When we upset the balance of these systems by killing wild animals, it often leads to droughts, infertile soils and zoonotic diseases.
  • It is an everyday battle for wildlife rangers and people who live near wildlife habitats to ensure the continued existence of wild animals, with threats coming from poaching of animals for bushmeat, and killing of wildlife for body parts, like elephant ivory and rhino horn.

The artists will encourage Africans to play their role in defending this continent’s incredible natural heritage.

By lending their voices to our campaign, these artists are joining a list of global and African ambassadors including Harrison Ford, David Beckham, Eliud Kipchoge, Jane Goodall, Jacky Chan, Lupita Nyong’o, Djimon Hounsou, Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Sir Richard Branson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kate Hudson, Maggie Q, Yao Ming, Josh Duhamel, Danai Gurira (Black Panther), Bo Derek amongst over 300 others of some of the world’s leading and most influential personalities from across the planet.
